Friends, groups and messages
Finding musicians, managing friends, your band's group chat and one-on-one jams.
Finding musicians
- FIND FRIENDS & JAM opens the friends list and search: search by name or email, with filters for instrument and genre and the “Online only” checkbox.
- You edit your profile (instruments, genres, avatar) from the home screen with EDIT PROFILE and CHANGE AVATAR.
Friends
- A friend request has to be accepted by the other person; from then on you can see whether they're online or already playing (IN JAM), and you can message them.
- MSG opens private messages: they reach people even when they're offline, and they'll find them the next time they sign in.
Groups
A group is your band's chat: it's always there, even when there's no jam, and anyone who's offline finds the messages the next time they sign in.
- On the Groups tab press NEW GROUP, type the name and tick the friends to add (up to 20 people).
- In the group you write messages and send images, audio and video (up to 15 MB) with the + button. The number next to the group name counts the unread messages.
- The globe at the top of the group chat, and next to the X in private messages, is the automatic translation, as in the room chat: messages written in another language reach you in yours, marked “translated”, and a click shows the original. Whoever was offline finds them translated the next time they sign in.
- GROUP JAM opens a private room named after the group and invites all its members; anyone who's offline gets the invite as soon as they connect, if someone is still in the room, and also finds the code to join in the group.
- Whoever created the group manages it with MANAGE: they can add or remove people, rename it or delete it. The others see the members with MEMBERS and can leave whenever they want.
One-on-one jams
- From the friends list you can invite a friend to play with just you: they get it as a notification (Invite to play) and accept with one click.
- To play with more people, or with video, use a room.
